BUYING AND EATING LOCAL FOODS

In November 2007, the New Oxford American Dictionary
proclaimed that the annual "word of the year" was LOCAVORE. Eating locally and organically grown food is a great way to save the environment and put money back into your own community. Purchasing foods grown near your home helps everyone save on fuel costs, cuts down on environmental pollution and also gives a boost to your local economy. Although the term LOCAVORE was coined only last year, most chefs have been buying and preparing locally grown food for years. Chef Hugo loves to scour the local markets for creative inspiration and to find the freshest foods. Check out this cool website to find local farms near you (in the United States) http://www.farmfresh.org/
